As a big fan of MySpace social network site, I am annoyed when people miss use the site. I am sick of people putting up badly formatted pages and stupid pictures on myspace. So here here is a list of My MySpace rules. If you follow these simply tips then you will make the whole site better for everyone.
- So first of you, format your profile pictures better. You don’t need to be a Adobe photoshop jiz kid to do this. Simple tools like Microsoft Office Picture Manager or Gimp can be used to edit your pictures. If you don’t have the time install these programs and all you need to do is crote your images, this site, http://mypictr.com/, allows you to cut your images up. All you have to do is upload the image, pick the section you wish to display and select it. There is even on an option for MySpace profile pictures in the drop down menu.
- Having a long display name, may seem cool but have you thought of your friends MySpace profile. If you have a long display name then it effects your friends profiles as it moves your image a line or two below the friends in the row ( see picture below). Try and keep your display name down to 10 characters including spaces.
- Completely pointless bullet-ins. Such as
- New pictures added to profile
- That you are bored
- Questionaires
- Links to Prize draws
- Offers for free Ipods or Xbox 360
- Bands on MySpace, stop sending spam messages everyone you can find to add you. It gets on most people’s nerves, so simply stop it. If your good, your audience will find you.
- If you get a MySpace message from a “porn star” asking them to add them, please don’t. If it sounds to go to be true, then it really is. The message sent to you it automated and it sent to lots of people. Adding them is only helping scam artist and pornographers.
- Having music that plays automatically on viewing your profile is extremely inconsiderate to your friends. You do not know where they are viewing your profile from. They may, as has happened to me, been viewing a profile in a library or office and have been embrassed by the loud music that play.
For these reasons, I never use myspace!
