What CMS does this site use?
The site uses a blogging system called wordpress and it allows for a very flexible management of pages. This CMS uses MySql and PHP to generate a post/page content around a static theme. It also allows for easy searching of posts and automatic genration of RSS feed.
Who Hosts this site?
This site is hosted by a company called (mt) Media Temple. This site uses the (gs) Grid-Server which is a completely new hosting service that replaces yesterday�s obsolete shared server technology. It allows for multiple sites to be hosted on the same account and it also hosts the technology blog, Computing corner and my personal site, Jonathanharris.me.uk.
How was this site designed?
This site was designed in the wonderful web design package from Macromedia called Dreamweaver 8. Also to edit all the pictures, Fireworks 8 was used. All the administration and testing is done in the world’s best web browser Firefox.
How long does has this site been running?
The site was started truly in March of 2006. I had the idea for the web site for ages but didn’t know have the know how to create it. It has changed lots from the first design, which used static html files to this massive blog. Hope the site continues to go strong.
